These terms cover work done by Avowd (avowd.ai), operated by Qi Zhang, sole proprietor, Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Where a signed proposal or statement of work says something different, that document wins.
What we do
We measure how AI answer engines describe and recommend your brand, we report the result, and we do work intended to improve it. Engagements normally have two parts:
- A one-time build. Audit, baseline measurement, and the on-site and off-site work that follows from it. Billed as a fixed project fee.
- An optional monthly retainer. Ongoing measurement, reporting, and defence of the position gained. Billed monthly, cancellable at any time.
What we do not promise
We cannot guarantee that any AI engine will mention or recommend you, and we do not pretend otherwise. AI answers are non-deterministic, personalised, and change whenever a model is retrained — the same question asked twice can produce different answers. What we sell is measurement you can trust and work that raises the probability of being cited. Anyone in this industry promising a guaranteed ranking is either misinformed or lying.
We also do not control the engines. If a provider changes its model, its search behaviour, or its API, your results can move for reasons no amount of work on our side would have prevented. We will tell you when we believe that has happened, and we will show you the measurement spec that lets you check.
How we measure
Every reported data point records the exact specification it was produced under — how many questions, how many engines, how many repetitions, and which competitor set. We do not change that specification mid-engagement without telling you, because doing so silently would make your trend line meaningless. Questions are asked without your brand name in them, since asking an engine about a brand by name tests whether it can read a website, not whether it recommends you.
What we need from you
Some of the highest-value work needs access only you can grant — a Google Business Profile, a website admin login, a platform listing. If that access is delayed, the work that depends on it is delayed too, and the project timeline moves accordingly. We will always tell you up front which items are on this list.
You confirm that information you give us about your business is accurate, and that you have the right to let us make the changes we agree to make.
Payment
Invoices are issued through Stripe in Canadian dollars and are due 14 days from the invoice date unless the invoice says otherwise. All prices quoted on this site are CAD. If you are outside Canada we will quote the equivalent in your currency before you commit, and your card issuer’s conversion rate applies at the time of payment. GST is charged where applicable. Project fees are typically split between a deposit and completion; the specific split is in your proposal. Monthly retainers renew automatically until cancelled.
Cancellation and refunds
Retainers: cancel any time, effective at the end of the current billing month. We do not bill you for a month you did not want. Work already delivered stays yours.
Projects: if you cancel partway, you pay for work completed to that point and we hand over everything produced so far. If we have not started, the deposit is refunded in full.
Ownership
Deliverables produced for you — audits, reports, content, structured data, and site changes — are yours once paid for. The methodology, tooling, and measurement software behind them remain ours. Your measurement data is yours; export it whenever you want.
Confidentiality
We keep your business information confidential, including anything we learn through access you grant us. We will not name you as a client or publish your results without asking you first, in writing.
Liability
Our total liability for any claim arising out of the work is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applying there. If something goes wrong, email us first — we would much rather fix it than argue about it.
