Avowd is a one-person consulting business in Vancouver, British Columbia. This page says exactly what we collect and what we do with it. If something here is unclear, email info@avowd.ai and we will answer in plain language.
Who we are
Avowd (avowd.ai) is operated by Qi Zhang, a sole proprietor based in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Contact: info@avowd.ai.
What we collect
When you run a free check
You give us a website address or brand name, and an email address. We store all three, along with the score we produced and the date. We use the email to send you the result and, if you have not asked us not to, to follow up once about what the result means. We do not sell it, rent it, or add it to any list we do not control.
When you become a client
We store your business name, website, contact details, the questions we measure you on, your competitors, and the measurement results over time. Where you give us access to your own accounts — a Google Business Profile, Search Console, a website admin login — we use that access only for the work you hired us for, and you can revoke it at any time from your own account settings without asking us.
When you pay us
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers — we can see that a payment happened, the amount, and the last four digits, and nothing else. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs what they do with it: stripe.com/privacy.
What we do not collect
We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or cross-site fingerprinting on this site. There is no advertising pixel on avowd.ai.
What we send to AI engines
Measuring AI visibility means sending real questions to real AI engines — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, xAI, and the Chinese engines 豆包 (ByteDance), 通义千问 (Alibaba), DeepSeek, and Kimi (Moonshot) — and recording what comes back.
The questions we send are the buyer questions we measure you on (for example “where to buy braised food in Richmond”). They do not contain your personal information, your customer data, or anything you told us in confidence. Note that the Chinese engines are operated by companies in mainland China and are subject to Chinese law; if you would rather we not measure the Chinese engines for your brand, tell us and we will run the Western engines only.
Where your data lives
Our site and application run on Vercel and Cloudflare. Client records are stored in a database hosted by Upstash. Backups are committed to a private GitHub repository. These providers store data in North America and, for the CDN layer, at edge locations worldwide.
How long we keep it
Free-check leads: 24 months, then deleted. Client records and measurement history: for the duration of the engagement plus 24 months, because a trend line is worthless without its history and clients often return. Financial records: 7 years, as Canadian tax law requires. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC’s PIPA), you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email info@avowd.ai and we will respond within 30 days. There is no form and no fee. If you are in the EU or UK, we will honour the equivalent GDPR rights on the same terms.
Case studies
We sometimes want to show a client’s results as a case study. We ask first, in writing, every time. No client’s name, numbers, or report appears in our marketing without their explicit consent, and consent can be withdrawn later.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with data we already hold, we will email clients before the change takes effect rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
