Can a Canadian business register a WeChat mini program?
Yes. WeChat accepts overseas entities, Canada is among the supported countries and regions, and both companies and sole proprietors can register. Overseas-entity mini programs currently do not need the Chinese mini program filing.
Verification needs your business registration documents, and the verification fee is paid by you directly to WeChat at its current rate. WeChat sets and changes these rules, so we check them again against the version in force before we start.
Why are online ordering and WeChat Pay not included?
WeChat Pay for an overseas merchant runs through cross-border acquiring, which takes longer than building the mini program itself — and Chinese-speaking customers in Richmond already order delivery through platforms like Fantuan and HungryPanda. A showcase mini program sends them to your store, your phone and your bookings; taking payment inside it is assessed and quoted on its own.
Will a mini program get me recommended by AI?
Not directly. AI engines cannot read inside a mini program, so it serves customers who have already found you. Getting ChatGPT, Doubao or Yuanbao to name you when someone asks depends on your website and on third-party sites that mention you — which is the other half of what we do.
